AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION14 OF CHAP~ER XXVI
OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, MAKING IT A CRIME TO RESIST ARREST BY
A POLICE OFFICER OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT; PROVID~
ING FOR AN INCREASE IN THE MAXIMUM FINE TO BE
IMPOSED BY THE MAYOR'S COURT FOR A VIOLATION OF
THE CRIMES LISTED IN SAID SECTION 14 AS AMENDED
BY THES ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1. That Section 14 of The Revised General
Ordinances of the City of Clermont duly passed by the City
Council of said city on the 6th day of June, A. D., 1928,
and approved by the Mayor of the City of Clermont on the
19th day of June, A. D., 1928 be amended to include therein
the crime of resisting arrest by a Police Officer of the
City of Clermont; that the maximum fine to be imposed by
the Mayor's Court of the City of Clermont for violation
of any of the crimes included and/or listed in said
Section 14 be raised from $25.00 to $100.00; and, that
said Section 14 be amended to read as follows:
Section 14. Whoever shall be guilty of a breach
of the peace, disorderly conduct, drunkedness,oresisting
arrest by a police officer of the City of Clermont, or
indecent exposure of the person, shall be punished by a
fine of not less than $5.00 and not exceeding $100.00
or by imprisonment at hard labor not exceeding 30 days,
or by both such fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
