A N ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER THREE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
CLERMONT. FLORIDA. BY ADDING A NEW SECTION TO CHAPTER THREE REGULA T-
ING LICENSING OF VENDORS NEAR CHURCH OR SCHOOL, PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA:
SECTION I: That Chapter 3 of the Code of Ordinances of Clermont, Florida
is amended by adding thereto the following section:
Sec. 3-3.
Licensing vendors near school or church.
No License shall be granted to any Licensee under this Chapter or under
Chapter 561. 34, sub-section 3:-:8, inclusive, Florida Statutes, where the vendor's
or licensee's place of business is within 500 feet of an established church or school,
(which distance shall be measured by following the shortest route of ordinary pedes-
train travel along the public thoroughfare from the main entrance of said place of
business to the main entrance of the church and, in v.case of a school, to the nearest
point of the school grounds in use as part of the school facilities).
SECTION II: Effective date.
The Council finds it necessary to declare the passage of this ordinance to
be an emergency measure and, therefore, same shall become effective upon its
passage.
