AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-5 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA, PERTAINING TO ELECTRICITY;
PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DA TE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: Sec. 8-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Clermont, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 8-5. Master and Journeyman electricians to be examined unless·
otherwise exempt.
(a) Every master and journeyman electrician, before carrying on
his trade or business in the City, shall personally appear before the Board
of Examiners of electricians, and pass an examination as to his competency
as provided in Sec. 8-2.
(b) Provided, however, any master or journeyman electrician
having a current and valid certificate of competency as a master or journey-
man electrician (or its equivalent) issued by any municipality in the State of
Florida (occupational license or permit shall not be deemed equivalent to
a certificate of competency) may be issued at once a current certificate of
competency by the Board of Examiners without an examination, upon paying
the required fee as provided in Section 8-2 of this Code. The Building In-
spector or "building official" as defined in Section 5-1(c) of this Code shall
issue the certificate of competency for and in behalf of said Board.
SECTION II: The Council finds it necessary to declare the passage
of this Ordinance to be an emergency measure, and, therefore, same shall

become effective upon its passage.
