SECTION 23 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA,
IS HEREBY AMENDED BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE NUMBERED 23-9,
REGULATING THE PARKING OF TRUCKS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS,
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DA TE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. The Code of Ordinances of Clermont, Florida, is
hereby amended by adding to Section 23 a sub-section to be numbered 23-9,
which shall read as follows:
Sec. 23-9, Trucks.
In all residential districts or zones as designated in Section 26-2
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clermont, no person, firm
or corporation shall park, cause to be parked, or allow to be parked
on their real property, or the property which they have under lease,
or in the streets, ¡tlleys or parkways abutting said property any house-
trailer or commercial vehicle of whatever size or type, including
either tractor or trailer of any type, including, but not limited to,
boat trailers, or both; provided, however, that panel trucks, pick-
up trucks and commercial vehicles or any type of trailers, includ-
ing boat trailers, of two (2) tons or less may be so parked. That
such prohibition shall not apply to owners who have construction
under progress on their property, nor does it prohibit routine
deliveries by tradesmen, or the use of trucks in making service
calls, nor does it apply to a situation where the truck becomes
disabled and, as a result of any emergency, is required to be
parked on abutting property or streets within the city, provided
such vehicle is removed within four (4) hours, after same became
disabled or said emergency came into existence. Ambulances,
school buses parked at schools or parks, or boat trailers parked
at boat ramps are excluded from the provisions of this section.
SECTION II. The Council finds it necessary to declare the passage
of this ordinance to be of an emergency measure and, therefore, same shall
become effective upon its passage.
