-WHEREAS, Girl Scouts has emerged as the preeminent organization for developing critical
leadership skills in girls; and
"WHEREAS, Girl Scouts is the leading authority on girls' healthy development and develop girls
of courage,confidence, and character who make the world a better place; and
14/3 fERE.4.S,the Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the world;and
1473fERE.AS, girls throughout the country sell over 200 million cookie packages a year to more
than 50 million cookie customers and, in the process, build a lifetime of skills and confidence;and
WHEREAS, throughout its 100-year history, Girl Scouts have utilized these skills to focus their
minds and energies to overcoming challenges and making a positive impact in their communities; and

transformational leaders in government, business, nonprofits, and the community;
