AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA,
PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY OF POLICE OFFICER TO STOP AND FRISK A PERSON OF
SUSPICIOUS CHARACTER OR NATURE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
SECTION I
The duly appointed Police Officers of this City are hereby, in
the interest of public safety and welfare, authorized to stop suspicious
persons or any person they have reason to believe has committed or is
about to commit a crime of any nature and search that person to determine
if he or she is carrying a gun, knife, dirk, blackjack, brass knucks,
club, or any dangerous weapon.
SECTION I I
Such Officers are further authorized to confiscate said weapons
and to dispose of them according to law.
SECTION III
THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON BECOMING A LAW.
