AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING, AS CODIFIED IN CHAPTER 8
OF THE CLERMONT CODE, ORDINANCE NUMBER 147 AND ADDING THERETO CER-
TAIN STANDARÐ~, REGULATIONS, AND SPECIFICATIONS PERTAINING TO MOBILE
HOMES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY
ORDAINS THAT:
Section 1 :
Section 8 - 41 - is amended by deleting paragraph (c) which
reads "Minimum wiring for 110 volt water heaters shall be 12/2 wire.
Minimum wiring for 200 volt water heaters shall be 10/2." and add-
ing thereto as paragraph (c) the following:
(c) Minimum wiring for all water heaters shall be 10/2
ground. Existing wiring will be accepted but any changes
in water heating, such as changing element to higher wattage
shall require compliance with 10/2 with ground wire restric-
tions.
Section 2 :
There is hereby added to Chapter 8 as Section 8 - 51,
the following:
Section 8 - 51 - Mobile Homes and Mobile Home Parks:
(a) Definition - Mobile Home. A vehicular, portable struc-
ture built on a chassis and designed to be used without a
permanent foundation as a dwelling when connected to indi-
cated utilities. A mobile home not intended as a dwelling
unit, as for example, equipped for sleeping purposes only,
contractor's on-site-office, banks, clinics, etc. shall not
be required to meet the provisions of this article pertaining
to the number of capacity of circuits required. It still,
how.ever, should meet all other applicable requirements of
th~ Clermont and National Electric Code. Any mobile home in
excess of six hundred square feet (600 sq. ft.) will meet the
same requirements as a commercial or residence in Se ction
8-34 of this code. In calculating square footage the.hitch
is excluded.

(b) Power Supply: The mobile home service equipment shall
be located adjacent to the mobile home and not mounted in or
on the mobile home.
The power supply to the mobile home shall be feeder circuits
consisting of not more than two (2) mobile home supply cords
each rated a minimum of 40 amperes or permanently instilled
circuits. Each mobile home supply cord shall be approved for
this purpose and have four conductors. One of which shall be
identified with a green color for ground wire. The attachment
plug, connectors and mating receptacles shall be of a 3 pole,
4 wire grounding type.

The mobile home power-supply cord shall be permanently
attached to the mobile home distribution panel. A suit-
able clamp shall be provided at the panel to afford strain
relief for the cord. The power supply cord shall not be
more than twenty-six and one-half (26~) feet in length.
(c) Disconnecting Means: A distribution panel employing
a disconnect switch and fuses shall be rated a minimum of
60 amperes and shall employ a single 2 pole 60 ampere fuse-
holder 40 or 50 ampere main fuses for 40 or 50 ampere supply
cords, respectively. A main circuit breaker distribution
panel shall be rated a minimum of 50 amperes. This equip-
ment shall contain a solderless type of grounding connector
or bar for the purpose of grounding with sufficient termi-
nals for all grounding conductors. Grounded circuit con-
ductors shall be insulated.
(d) Electrical Nameplates: A plastic or metal plate shall
identify the supply cord entrance and shall read, 120-240
volt, 3 wire, 60 cycle and number of amperes. \
(e) Branch Circuits: The number of branch circuits re-
quired shall be determined as following:
1. Lightin~: Based on 3 watts per sq. ft. outside
dimensions dlvided by 115 volts.
2. Portable Appliances: There shall be a minimum
of two 20 ampere circuits for receptacle outlets in
the kitch~n, dining, laundry and patio areas. These
circuits shall supply only portable appliances.
3. General Appliances: (including furnaces, water
heater, range, and central or room air conditioner,etc.)
shall be of the appeoved type and shall be connected,
each one on a single circuit with motor loads not ex-
ceeding 80 percent of the branch-circuit rating.
(f) Receptacle Outlets: Shall be of the grounded type.
(g) Grounding: Grounding of both electrical and non-
electrical metal parts in a mobile home is through connection
to a grounding bus in the mobile home distribution panel. The
grounding bus is grounded through the green colored conductor
in the supply cord. The chassis of the mobile home shall,be
grounded.
(h) Calculation of Load:
volts supply with 120 volt
of the 3 wire system.
(i) Mobile Home Parks: There shall be a maximum of 4 meter
bases per service entrance. Service entrance will be minimum
of 3 - 250 MCM wire in 3" Rigid Conduit with 3" weatherhead -
maximum of 4 - 100 amper panels, of 3 - 3/0 AWG wires in 2"
Rigid Conduit with 2" weatherhead. Maximum of 2 - 100 ampere
and 2 - 60 ampere panels. Three meter bases shall require
minimum.

Section 3:
There is hereby added to Chapter 8 as Section 8 - 52, the
following:
Section 8 - 52 - Travel Trailer Park:
(a) Definition Travel Trailer: A vehicular portable
structure built on a chassis, designed to be used as a
temporary dwelling for travel, recreation, vacation use,
and when equipped for the road it shall have a bodywidth
not exceeding 8 feet, and a body length not exceeding 32
feet. Anything larger will be considered a mobile home.
A travel trailer park shall provide a 100 ampere panel for
a maximum of 7 travel trailers, 100 ampere panel will have
a service entrance of 3# 2 AWG wire in 1\" rigid conduit.
The power supply to the travel trailers shall be a feeder
circuit supply cord approved for the purpose, rated 30
amperes, 120 volts, and shall have three conductors, one of
which shall be identified by a green color. The attachment
plug, connectors and mating receptacles shall be of a 2 pole
3 wire grounding type. The feeder circuit supply cord shall
not exceed 120 feet from panel.
Each feed circuit will be individually fused or circuit breaker
and each feed circuit will be labeled 120 volt - 30 amperes.
Section 4:
If any article, section, clause or provision of this Ordinance
be deemed or held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction for
any reason or cause, the same shall not affect or invalidate the whole
of this Ordinance, nor any part thereof, other than that particular
provision deemed or held invalid.
Section 5:
All Ordinances, or part of Ordinances, in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 6:
This Ordinance shall be posted by law and it shall become
law and shall take effect immediately upon its being posted as pro-
vided by law.
