AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5-1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
FLORIDA.
THLCITY COUNCIL, CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA, HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
Section 1. Section 5-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clermont,
Florida·is hereby amended to read as follows:
Sec. 5-1 Southern Standard Building Code adopted by reference.
(a) There is hereby adopted by the city for the purpose of establishing rules
and regulations for the construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use
and occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures, that certain
building code known as the Southern Standard Building Code, 1969 Edition, together
with the 1971 Revision thereto, save and except such portions as are hereinafter
deleted, modified or amended, of which not less than three (3) copies of such code
have been and are now on file in the office of the city clerk, and the same is
hereby adopted and incorporated herein by reference as fully as if set out at length
herein, and from the date on which this section shall take effect, the provisions
thereof shall be controlling in the construction of all buildings and other structures
within the corporate limits of the city.
(b) Any person, firm, corporation or agent who shall violate a provision of the
code adopted in subsecti on (a), or'<må il to comply therewith, or with any of the
requirements thereof, shall be punished as provided in Section 114 of said building
code.
Section 2. If any article, section, clause or provision of this ordinance be deemed
invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction for any reason or cause, the same shall
not affect or invalidate the whole of this ordinance, nor any part thereof, other
than the particular provision deemed or held invalid.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be posted by law and it shall become law and
shall take effect immediately upon its being posted as provided by law.
