AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23-1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
FLORIDA.
THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA, HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
Section 1. Section 23-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clermont, Florida
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 23-1 Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law adopted by reference; penalty
f..or violation.
(a) There is hereby adopted by the city for the purpose of prescribing regulations
governing public safety, health and general welfare, that certain code known as the
"Florida Uniform Traffic Control Law," set forth in haec verba in Chapter 316 of the
Florida Statutes, in Act 71-135 of the 1971 session, together with amendments and
revisions thereof, of which chapter of said Florida Statutes, not less than three (3)
copies are now filed in the office of the city clerk, and the same are hereby adopted
and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which
thi.s section shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controll ing within
the corporate limits of the city.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to violate or fail to comply with any
provisions of said Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, 1971, as adopted here by reference,
and the violation of any provisionsof said Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, 1971
shall be punished by a fine or imprisonment or both by such fine and imprisonment
as provided in section 1-8 of this code. Each day any violation of any provision of
Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, 1971, shall continue shall constitute a separate
offense.
Section 2. If any article, section, clause or provision of this ordinance be
deemed invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction for any reason or cause, the same
shall not affect or invalidate the whole of this ordinance, nor any part thereof, other
than the particular provision deemed or held invalid.
Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be posted by law and it shall become law~and shall
take effect immediately upon its being posted as provided by law.
