AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROHIBITING LOITERING IN THE
AREA OF BUSINESSES DURING NON-BUSINESS HOURS, AUTHORIZING THE
POLICE TO CLEAR SAID AREAS, PROVIDING FOR THE ARREST, TRIAL
AND PUNISHMENT OF THOSE REFUSING TO LEAVE SAID AREAS, PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention
of the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County,
Florida, that crowds of unruly persons do congregate themselves
around businesses in the City of Clermont, and
WHEREAS, said congregation does result in loud
and obnoxious noises; littering of public and private property
and facilitates the promotion of crime.
THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
Section 1.
"
No person or congregate of persons shall loiter
in the area of a business operation unless said business is
open for the public or unless the person or persons have written
authority to so congregate or loiter.
Section 2.
The Police Department of the City is hereby
authorized and directed to remove any persons violating this
Ordinance. Any person refusing to obey this Ordinance shall be
guilty of a crime and punished by imprisonment in the City Jail
for ten (10) days or by a fine of FIFTY DOLLARS AND NO/100 ($50.00)
or both such fine and impr'sonment.
Section 3.
This Ordinance shall be posted by law and it shall
become law and shall take effect immediately upon its being posted
as provided by law.
