ORDINANCE NO. 87-C
AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 5-1.1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING
MINIMUM STANDARDS GOVERNING THE USE, OCCUPANCY AND MAINTENANCE
OF DWELLINGS, CREATING A HOUSING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND
APPEALS AND FIXING THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES THEREOF:
AUTHORIZING THE INSPECTION OF DWELLINGS AND NECESSARY STRUCTURES
AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONDEMNATION OF ALL BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES
DEEMED UNFIT FOR HUMAN HABITATION AND USE: REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
IN CONF~IcrHEREWITH; PROVDING FOR SEVERABILITY: PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION BY POSTING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
SECTION 1.
The Code of Ordinances of Clermont, Florida, is hereby amended by adding
a Section, to be numbered 5-1.1, which said Section reads as follows:
The Southern Standard Housing Code, being particularly the 1969
edition thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such
portions as may hereinafter be amended, of which not less than
three copies have been and are now filed in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of Clermont and the same are hereby adopted
and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein, and
from the date on which this Ordinance shall shall effect, the
provisions therein shall be controlling in the use, maintenance
and occupancy of all dwellings, dwelling units and/or structures
within the area of jurisdiction of the City of Clermont.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance is made pursuant to the authority of the Charter of the
City of Clermont, Florida, the general laws of the State of Florida, specifically
Chapter 165 of the Florida Statutes, and Special Act of the Legislature of the State
of Florida.
SECTION 3.
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
SECTION 4.
Should any section or part of a Section of this Ordinance be declared
invalid by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such adjudication shall not apply or
affect any other provisions of this Ordinance, except to the extent that the entire
Section or part of the Section may be inseparable in meaning and effect from the
Section to which such holding shall apply.

SECTION 5.
This Ordinance shall be posted as provided by law and it shall become
law and shall take effect at 12:01 A. M. on the f.3"T1u day of ;lId
