'Whereas, Aurelia Cole has been a leader since her high school days in
Clermont's Lincoln Park High School; and
'Whereas, she was a top academic student, president of several clubs, and a
Student Council Member; and
'Whereas, Ms. Cole has worked with youths at New Jacob's Chapel Baptist
Church and has served on several community committees; and
Whereas, the Lake County Commission appointed her to a committee to study
children's needs; and
Whereas, Ms. Cole was named Clermont's Teacher of the Year in 1986; and
Whereas, she is the daughter of longtime educators Marie and William N.
McKinney and has served as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Chief of
Administration for Lake County Schools since 1969;
Now, Therefore, Be It Proclaimed that the City of Clermont expresses
its gratitude to Aurelia Cole for her services and contributions to the Lake County
community and schools, and extends best wishes on her retirement.
