AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 17-1. 1 ðF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT; AMENDING SECTIONS 17-6 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT; AMENDING SECTION
17-7 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT; ALLOWING
"NO HUB" CAST IRON INSTALLATION; ESTABLISHING':'A SCHEDULE OF
PERMIT FEES; INCREASING EXAMINATION FEES FOR MASTER PLUMBERS AND
JOURNEYMAN PLUMBERS; INCREASING THE ANNUAL FEE FOR RENEWING THE
CERTIFICATES OF MASTER AND10R JOURNEYMAN PLUMBERS; ESTABLISHING
PLUMBING EXAMINATION DATES FOR MASTER AND JOURNEYMAN PLUMBERS;
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION
BY POSTING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
SECTION 1
Sub Section 4 of Section 505 of Section 17-1. 1 of the Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
(4) "No hub" cast iron is allowed when properly installed on
firmly tamped ground and supported horizontally by brick or
concrete supports.
SECTION 2
Section 17-1. 1 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by
adding the following:
Section 106.3A is modified as follows:

SECTION 3
Section 17-6 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 17-6
The Board shall examine the applicants as to their practical knowledge
of plumbing, house drainage and plwnbing ventilation, and if satisfied
as to the competency of such applicants, shall issue a certificate to
such applicant authorizing him to engage in or work at the business
of plwnbing either as a master plwnber or employing plwnber or as a

journeyman plumber. The fee for examination for a master plumber or
employing plumber shall be (thirty dollars;) fifty dollars ($50.00)
for a journeyman plumber it shall be (five dollars) twenty-five dollars
($25.00). The certificate shall be valid for the term of one year, but
the same can be renewed without furhter examination if application is
made to the board not less than thirty days before the expiration of the
certificate.
SECTION 4
Section 17-7 of the Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to
read as follows:
The annual fee for renewing of a certificate for a master
plumber or an employing plumber shall be twenty five dollars
($25.00) and the annual fee for renewing the certificate of a
journeyman plumber shall be fifteen dollars ($15.00), it being
expressly understood this renewal fee does not supplant or
replace the annual license fees collected by the City. The
certificate shall be revocable at any time by the board for
cause. All monies received by the City Clerk hereunder shall
be paid into the general fund of the City. Any person desiring
toeengage in or work at the business of plumbing, either as a
master plumber or an employing plumber or as a journeyman plumber,
shall make application to the board of esaminers at such times
and places as the board may designate. The examination shall be
made in whole or in part in writing, and shall be of a practical
and elementary character, but sufficiently strict toœst the
qualification of the applicant.
Plumbing examinations for master and journeyman license shall be
conducted quarterly on the second Tuesday of January, April,
July, and October.
It shall be the duty of the board of plumbing examiners to issue
to competent plumbers proper certificates and it shall be unlawful
for any person not the holder of a certificate, thus issued to
engage in the business or trade of plumbing within the limits of
the City.
SECTION 5
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6
Should any section or part of a section of this ordinance be
declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, such adjudications
shall not apply or affect any other provision of this ordinance, except to the
extent', that the entire section or part of the section may be inseparatable in
meaning and effect from the section to which such holding shall apply.

SECTION 7
This Ordinance shall be posted as provided by law and it shall
become law and shall take effect at 12:01 A.M. on the 10th day of August,
A. D. 1973.
