Proclamation
3Conoring Jan Sheldon
Whereas, Jan Sheldon founded Clermont's community theatre; The Moonlight
Players Theatre, in 1994; and
Whereas, Ms. Sheldon started The Moonlight Players Theatre with $500
provided by her father to produce the first play; The Sound of Music; and
Whereas, The Moonlight Players Theatre has brought much joy and
entertainment to Clermont residents and helped bring business to downtown
Clermont; and
Whereas, Ms. Sheldon also nurtured an Improv group for youth called The
Lunatics; and
Whereas, some of the young people who have been directed by Jan Sheldon
went on to become Broadway actors; and
Whereas, The Moonlight Players Theatre is celebrating its 20th anniversary in
September, 2014; and
Whereas, Ms. Sheldon is retiring in September, 2014;
Now, Therefore, Be It Proclaimed that the City of Clermont expresses
its appreciation to Jan Sheldon for her years of service and contributions to the
Clermont community.
In Witness Whereof, I, Harold S. Turville, Jr., Mayor of the City of Clermont,
set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the City of Clermont to be affixed this
9th day of September in the year two thousand fourteen.
