ORDINANCE No. 2014-23
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT,LAKE COUNTY,FLORIDA,INCREASING THE MONTHLY
PENSION BENEFIT AMOUNTS FOR RETIREES/BENEFICIARIES
CURRENTLY RECEIVING BENEFITS FROM THE CITY OF CLERMONT
GENERAL EMPLOYEES DEFINED BENEFIT RETIREMENT PLAN;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF PROVISIONS; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there are nine (9) retirees/beneficiaries currently receiving monthly pension
benefits pursuant to the City of Clermont General Employees Defined Benefit Retirement Plan and;
WHEREAS, retirees/beneficiaries have not received increases to their monthly pension
benefit amounts since October 1, 2004 and;
WHEREAS,the City Council desires to increase the retirees/beneficiaries monthly pension
benefit amounts by two dollars ($2.00) per year of full-time creditable service with the City of
Clermont;
SECTION 1.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED,by the City Council of the City of Clermont,
Lake County,Florida that all retirees/beneficiaries currently receiving monthly pension benefits from
the City of Clermont General Employees Defined Benefit Retirement Plan shall receive an increase
in their monthly pension benefit amount in the amount of two dollars ($2.00)per year of full-time
creditable service with the City of Clermont.
SECTION 2.
Any portion of the City of Clermont Code or any ordinance or part thereof in conflict with this
Ordinance is hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 3.
Should any section or part of a section be declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction,
such adjudications shall not apply or affect any other provision of this Ordinance, except to the
extent that the entire section or part of the section may in separable in meaning and effect from the
section to which such holding shall apply.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall be effective retroactive to October 1, 2014.
