R-29-001 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXTENSION
OF WATER MAIN, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO BORROW SUCH AMOUNT AS
mivr BE NECESSARY IN CONVECTION THEREWITH.
- WI EAS, it is deeffd advisable and in the interest
of the City of Clermont to extend a six inch water main
from at or near the Intersection of 8evonth and Chestnut
Streets in the City of Clermont, through the territory
known as Clermont Heights, and to the property of Mro
Charles Re Short ; end
WHEREAS, the City has no funds on hoed with which
to make the extension of six inch main above referred to,
and Mr. Charles R. Short has offered to lend the City
whatever sum may be required to effect this extension,
therefore

OF CLE: MONT0 That the extension of a six inch water main
from a point at or near the intersection of Seventh and
Chestnut Streets through Clermont Heights to the property
of Mrd Charles R9 Short, be and is hereby authorized, to
be done forthwith; and
BE IT FURTHER RE. OLVED, that the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Clermont be and they are hereby
authorized to borrow on behalf of the City from Mr.
Charles R. Short whatever sum, not in excess of $6,000.00,
as is required_ to purchase the necessary pipe and install
same; and the said Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute and deliver to Mr, Charles R0 Short, the
promissory note of theCity of Clermont, payable one year
after date, with interest at six
per cent per annum, in
such amount, not exceeding the said sum of $69000,00,, as
may be necessary to purchase and install said six inch

water main; and the said sum, evidenced by the said
note, shall be and remain the obligation of theCity of
Clermont until the same, with interest, shall have b en
paid
I, hereby certify that the foregoing true
and correct copy of a resolution passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Clermont, at a
br regular meeting of the said City Council held on

One year after date the City of Clermont, a Municipal
Corporation, for value received, promises to pay to the order _
of Charles R.Short -the sum of
PINTO Thousand DOLLARS
at the First State Bank of Clermont, Clermont, Florida, together
with interest thereon at the rate of six per cent per annum.
And the said City of Clermont further agrees and promises
that if this note be placed in the hands of an attorney at law
for collection after maturity, to pay all costs of such collection
including a reasonable-. attorney's fee. ,,
