NO. 276-C
AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR
PROmBITING THE USE OF GAS POWERED BOAT MOTORS ON
LANDLOCKED BODIES OF WATER WITIllN THE CITY OF
CLERMONT; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES; REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
The City Council of the City of Clermont, hereby ordains that:
SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Clermont has determined that the best interests
of the public would be served by prohibiting the use of all gasoline powered motors
on boats and like craft on the landlocked bodies of water within the City of Clermont.
SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Clermont has determined that such regulations
would promote the general health, safety, and welfare of the community.
SECTION 3:
The use of any and all gasoline powered motors on boats or other like craft on
any landlocked body of water or lake within the City of Clermont shall be prohibited.
SECTION 4:
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a gasoline powered motor on
boats or other like craft on any landlocked body of water or lake within the City of
Clermont.
SECTION 5:
Any person violating this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine not to exceed
$500.

All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 7:
Should any section or part of a section be declared invalid by any Court of
competent jurisdiction, such adjudication shall not apply to or affect any other section
or provision of this Ordinance except to the extent that the entire section or part of a
section may be inseparable in meaning and effect from the section to which such
holding shall apply.
SECTION 8:
This Ordinance shall be published as provided by law and shall become law and
shall take effect on the date of its Second Reading and Final Passage.
First Reading this 28th day of July, 1992.
Second Reading this 11th day of August, 1992.
