NO. 258-C
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AMENDING ORDINANCE 233-C, AS AMENDED AND INCORPORATED IN CHAPTER
14, SECTION 14-22, RIDING SKATEBOARDS ON STREETS, SIDEWALKS,
ETC., PROHIBITED, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE, AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS THAT
CHAPTER 14, SECTION 14-22 IS HEREBY AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to ride or use a
skateboard on the streets, alleys, public parks, or commercial
parking lots open to the general public unless othe:rwise designated
for such use.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to ride or use a
skateboard on any sidewalk located in a commercial district as
designated by the adopted zoning District Map of the City of
Clermont.
(c) The riding of skateboards shall be permitted on sidewalks
in all residential districts. However, pedestrians shall have the
right-of-way at all times.
(d) It shall be unlawful to place any ramp or other device
used in conjunction with skateboarding on any public property.
(e) Any person being found in violation of this section shall
be subject to fine as provided in Section 1-8 of this Code.
SECTION 2.
Should any section or part of this section be declared invalid by
any court of competent jurisdiction, such adjudications shall not
apply to or affect any other provision of this ordinance, except
to the extent that the entire section or part of the section may
be inseparable in meaning and effect from the section to which such
hOlding shall apply.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall be published as provided by law and it shall
become law and shall take effect immediately upon its second
reading and final passage..
