AN ORDINANCE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 98 PARKING AND VEHICULAR USE AREAS;
SECTION 98-5 DESIGN OF PARKING LOTS; PROVIDING FOR
CODIFICATION; SEVERABILITY; EFFECTIVE DATE; AND
PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 163, Flonda Statutes, the City of
Clermont Planning and Zoning Commission, acting as the Local Planning Agency of the City,
has held a public heanng on August 2, 2016 and following such heanng found this Ordinance to
be in the best interest of the City of Clermont, and recommended that the City Council adopt this
Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont desires to add Section 98-5
Design of Parking Lots, (b) Downtown Parking, to the City of Clermont's Code of Ordinances,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Clermont, Flonda as follows
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Clermont has the authonty to adopt this Ordinance pursuant to
Article VIII of the Constitution of the State of Flonda and Chapter 163 and 166, Flonda Statutes
SECTION 2.
The Land Development Code of the City of Clermont Code of Ordinances is hereby adding to
read as follows
Chapter 98
PARKING AND VEHICULAR USE AREAS
Section 98-5. Design of Parking Lots
(a) The parking lot design, including but not limited to arrangement of spaces, width of
aisles and access dnves, angle of spaces, installation of curbing, etc , shall be as specified
in the figures in Section 98-15 The specific design of each facility shall take into
consideration the necessity of required landscaping in accordance with Chapter 118
pertaining to vegetation All parking lot improvements shall be paved in accordance with
accepted City engmeenng standards

(b) Downtown parking
In order to accommodate slower traffic movements and the historical nature of
downtown, parallel on-street parking provided by the City of Clermont may be reduced to
8' x 22' as shown in figure 98-15D The downtown parking area shall include the
Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) as shown in the Downtown CRA
Redevelopment Plan, adopted on 12/8/2015 by Ordinance No 2015-77

SECTION 3. Conflict
All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances, all City Code Sections or parts of City Code Sections, and
all Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflict
SECTION 4. Severability
Should any provision of this Ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be
invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the Ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof,
other than the part declared to be invalid
SECTION 5. Codification
The text of SECTION 1 of this Ordinance shall be codified as a part of the Clermont City Code
The codifier is authonzed to make editonal changes not effecting the substance of this Ordinance by
the substitution of"Article" for "Ordinance", "Section" for "Paragraph", or otherwise to take such
editonal license
SECTION 6. Effective Date
This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its adoption as provided by law
