RESOLUTION NO. 2016-43
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT CITY COUNCIL
ESTABLISHING A BONUS PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYEES BASED ON
WORK PERFORMANCE, ESTABLISHING THE EVALUATION
PERIOD,PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND EVALUATION PROCESS;
NOTIFYING THE EMPLOYEES OF THE BONUS PROGRAM AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Section 214.425 Florida Statutes requires that any payments identified or
intended as extra compensation or a bonus must be approved by the local government elected body
underestablished conditions.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont,
Florida, Lake County, Florida as follows:
Section 1
All eligible employees as set forth in this Resolution shall be paid a bonus as may be annually
appropriated or budgeted by the City Council.
Section 2
The bonus shall be based upon work performance by the employee for the period of October 1 to
December 10 of the applicable bonus program year. The evaluation and determination shall be
made by the Human Resources Director subject to final determination by the City Manager.
Section 3
All active employees who are not suspended,disciplinarily demoted,separated,or terminated from
the City for any period of time during the above-stated applicable evaluation period shall be
eligible to receive the bonus.
Section 4
The bonusprogram as described herein shall be contingent and subject to City Council's annual
appropriation of funds in accordance with applicable law.
Section 5
Elected, Temporary or Seasonal employees and volunteers are not eligible for this payment.
Section 6
The payments shall be made on dates as determined by the City Manager.

Section 7
The amount of the bonus will be subject to FICA, Medicare, and Federal Income Tax
Withholdings.
Section 8
The City Manager shall, as soon as practical, notify each current employee of the bonus program
established herein.
Section 9
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and shall remain in effect until
such time as it is repealed by City Council or the City Manager elects to terminate the program.
