Whereas, on Sunday, June 12, 2016, a gunman killed 49 and wounded 53 innocent people in
a horrific attack on the Pulse nightclub in Orlando; and
Whereas, the attack is the deadliest mass shooting in modern history; and
Whereas,following the attack the people of Clermont, Orlando, the State of Florida, and the
United States expressed overwhelming support for the victims and their families; and
Whereas, the City of Clermont condemns the cowardly attack on the victims of the Orlando
mass shooting; and
"Whereas, the City of Clermont honors the memory of Stanley Almodovar Ill; a graduate of
East Ridge High School, and the other victims who were killed in the attack and offers
condolences and sympathies for their families, loved ones and friends; and
Whereas, Stanley Almodovar Ill heroically saved lives on June 12 by shielding others at Pulse
night club and putting himself in harm's way, ultimately sacrificing his life;
Now, Therefore, the City of Clermont does hereby proclaim June 28, 2016 as
Stanley Almodovar III Day
In Witness Whereof, I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont, set my hand and caused
the Great Seal of the City of Clermont to be affixed this 28th day of June in the year two
thousand sixteen.
