AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
FLORIDA, SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT PRO-
POSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, PROVIDING
FOR THE PLACING OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO A VOTE OF THE ELEC-
TORATE AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS THAT:
SECTION 1.
WHEREAS, certain Articles of the City Charter are no longer applicable due to changes
in Florida State Law,
WHEREAS, to correct, modernize, and streamline the City Charter, it must be amended,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved the following provisions of the City Charter of the
City of Clermont are hereby repealed:
A, Article XII, General Bonds (amends City Charter to comply with State Law)
B. Article XIII, City of Clermont Reserve Bond Account (amends City Charter to
comply with State Law)
C. Article XIV, Bond and Financial Committee (amends City Charter to comply
with S ta te Law)
D. Article II, Section 10 (d), Two Offices Prohibited (combines duties of City
Clerk and Finance Officer for efficiency)
SECTION 2,
The proposed amendments shall be placed on the ballot of the next General Election held
within the City of Clermont by the following question:
Do you favor the proposed amendments to the Charter of the City of
Clermont, Lake County, Florida, as proposed by Ordinance No. ?
YES
NO
SECTION 3,
Upon favorable vote of the majority of the electorate voting in the said election, the
amendments shall be incorporated into the Charter and the revised Charter shall be filed
with the Department of State of the State of the State of Florida, at which time the re-
vised Charter shall take effect.
SECTION 4.
This Ordinance shall be posted at the City Hall until after the General Election.
SECTION 5.
This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to ,the Charter of the City of Clermont and the General
Laws of the State of Florida and shall be published as provided by law and shall become
effective immediately upon its second reading and final passage.
