RESOLUTION NO. 2016-37
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE 8TH
STREET GATEWAY PROJECT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY
AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the revitalization of the Historic Downtown District of the City of Clermont
has been a major focus and objective of the City Council of the City of Clermont; and
WHEREAS,the City Council on March 23,2015 adopted the City of Clermont Downtown
and Waterfront Master Plan, which includes the 8th Street Gateway Project; and
WHEREAS, other requirements will be further developed by City staff after approval by
the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT); and
WHEREAS, City staff will continue to support the activities of the City Council to
revitalize the Historic Downtown District of the City of Clermont through activities and programs
such as the development and implementation of the 8th Street Gateway Project.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont,
Lake County, Florida, that:
Section 1. Approval of the 8th Street Gateway Project.
The City Council hereby approves the 8th Street Gateway Project. The City Council finds
that the actions taken in this Resolution support the revitalization of the Historic Downtown
District.
Section 2. Financial Support for the 8th Street Gateway Project.
The City Council also financially supports the development and implementation of the 8th
Street Gateway Project.
Section 3. Perpetual Maintenance.
The City of Clermont hereby approves and accepts that any and all improvements,
including landscaping, installed by the City within the Florida Department of
Transportation Right-of-Way shall be perpetually maintained by the City of Clermont at
its expense.
Section 4. Severability.
All ordinances, resolutions or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby superseded and
repealed to the extent of such conflict.

Section 5. Authorization.
The Mayor and/or City Manager are specifically authorized to execute an agreement for
the 8th Street Gateway Project with the Florida Department of Transportation for
maintenance of the landscaping and improvements installed in relation to the agreement
heretofore mentioned.
Section 4. Effective Date.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
