WHEREAS, for over the past 25 years the National Coalition for the Homeless and National
Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness have sponsored National Hunger and
Homelessness Awareness Week; and
1'V3-(ERE.4S, the purpose of the proclamation is to educate the public about the many reasons
people are hungry and homeless; including the shortage of affordable housing in Clermont for very low
income residents, and to encourage support for homeless assistance service providers, as well as
community service opportunities for students and school service organizations; and
W3-fERE..4S, there are many organizations committed to sheltering and providing supportive
services, as well as meals and food supplies to people experiencing homelessness; and
')V3-fERE..4 S the City of Clermont recognize that hunger and homelessness continues to be a serious
problem for many individuals and families;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont, do hereby proclaim November
13 through November 19, 2016 as
NATIONAL HUNGER AND 3-fOMIELESSNESS AWARENESS WEEK
INWTTNESS 'W3-CEREOJ', I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont, have hereunto set my
hand and caused the Seal of the City of Clermont to be affixed this 8th day of November,two thousand
sixteen.
