1V3-fEREALS, an estimated 50 million people face hunger every day in America, including millions of
children, senior citizens, and military veterans; and
WHEREAS,S, the National Association of Letter Carriers, with the help of rural letter carriers, other
postal employees, and numerous volunteers resulted in the delivery of more than 1.5 billion pounds of
donations to community food banks and pantries over the past 24 years; and
WHEREAS, the Central Florida Letter Carriers of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch
1091 collected over 1,000,000 pounds of food in 2016; and
'WHEREAS the City of Clermont recognizes that hunger continues to be a serious problem for
many individuals and families;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont, do hereby proclaim May 13,
2017 as
National-Association of Letter Carriers "Stamp Out 3-lunger"
National Food Drive Day
