ORDINANCE NO. 1-M
AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND VACATING ALL OF GOBLE STREET
AND FRACTIONAL ALMOND AND SCOTT STREETS AND PROVIDING
OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
WHEREAS, Almond, Goble and Scott Streets were established and
dedicated by the plat or plats of Clermont Heights, duly filed and recorded
in the public records of Lake County, Florida, and as further represented
on the Official Map of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, filed
2/4/26 and recorded in Plat Book 8, pages 17 to 23, incl. , public records
of Lake County, Florida.
WHEREAS, The Council of this City has heretofore determined that
Almond Street lying East of State Road 50 and West of Bloxam Avenue, and,
all of Goble Street, and Scott Street lying North of Almond Street and South
of Highland Avenue, which have never been opened, improved or used by
the public, can be closed and vacated without damage to any of the owners
of property in this City, and, that there are no public or private utility lines
or pipes within the areas of said streets, and, the said streets serve no
appreciable purpose for the City and are not needed as a part of its system
of public streets and thoroughfares, and, the opening and improving of Goble
and Scott Streets, and the continuance of Almond Street would cause an ex-
- pense to the City with no substantial benefit, and the best interests of the
City would be served by the vacating of said Almond, Goble and Scott Streets
as above described.
WHEREAS, on December 5, 1961 the Council adopted a Resolution
pertaining to the vacating of these above described streets and which also
provided for published notice and public hearing, which notice was published
in the Clermont Press on December 7, and 14, 1961, and a public hearing
was held on December 19, 1961 in accordance with the notice and no object-
ions in writing or otherwise were presented to the Council,
WHEREAS, the Council of this City further find that the best interests
of this City would be best served by the vacating of said Almond Street East
of State Road 50 and West of Bloxam Avenue, all of Goble Street, and Scott
Street lying North of Almond Street and South of Highland Avenue, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA•
Section 1. That all of Goble Street and fractional Scott Street lying
North of Almond Street and South of Highland Avenue, as represented on
the said Official Map of the City of Clermont be, and the same are, hereby
forever abandoned, closed and vacated.
Section II That Almond Street as represented on the Official Map
of the City of Clermont, lying East of State Road 50 and West of the Western
Rights-of-Way line of Bloxam Avenue be, and the same is, hereby forever
abandoned, closed and vacated.

Section III That all lands lying within the area of Rights-of-Way
of the above described streets forever abandoned, closed and vacated
shall in equal proportions revert to and in fee simple become the property
of the owners of the lands lying adjacent and abutting to said streets, and,
the City of Clermont does hereby forever renounce all rights in any of the
lands so described hereinabove as being within the area of rights-ofway
of said streets herein abandoned and vacated, and the public easement
therein is hereby forever abrogated.
Section IV. A copy of the Resolution adopted by this Council on
December 5, 1961, Proof of Publication of said Notice and this Ordinance
certified to by the Clerk of this City shall be recorded in the public records
of Lake County, Florida
Section V. The Council of this City find it necessary to declare
the passage of this Ordinance to be an emergency measure and, therefore,
same shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
