13 E S O LU T I O N
_ WHEREAS, the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida,
is located at the intersection of two of Florida+s principal
highways, to wit ; State Highway Na. 25 and State Highway No. 50,
and,
WHEREAS, one of Florida~s greatest tourist attractions
is located on State Hig3~way No. 25 within the city limits of the
City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, and,
WHEREAS, thousands of tourists each year pass and stop
at said Citrus Tower, necessitating the reducing of speed and
turning off State Road No. 25, and,
WHEREAS, this reduction of speed, turning from, and enter..
ing into said State Road Pdo. 2,5 creates a dangerous and hazardous
traffic condition, inasmuch as State Road 25 is a "two lane"
highway , and ,
WHEREAS, there is atwo-hundred foot right_of way for
highway purposes already owned by the State Road Department of
Florida or Lake County, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT 1~?ESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNi'Y, FLORIDA:
1. That the City of Clermont, Lake County, b'lorida urges
the County Commissioners of Lake County, Florida and the State
goad Department of the State of Florida to immediately survey,
locate and construct acceleration and deceleration lanes at the
Citrus Tower on State Road No. 25 in the City of Clermont, Lake
County, Florida.
2. That said acceleration and deceleration lanes be
located and constructed in such a manner as will conform with future
four laving of said State Road No. 25 when such four laving is
begun.
