WHEREAS, the Stat
proposed construction
U. S. Highway X27 and
hake County, Florida,
Highway X27 ; and
Road Department of the State of Florida has
of a Highway over pass at the intersection of
State Road X50 in the City limits of Clermont,
with _t ate Road ;~50 being over passed by U. S.
',~H~'LAS, the City Council of t'ne City of Clermont, Lake County,
Florida, has c~1used an inquiry to be made into the engineering design
and location of the proposed over pass construction tc determine its
effects upon the general welfare of the citizens of Cler:~~,ont, Florida,
as well as the public travelling on these hi~Thti•~ays; and
WH~,REAS, it appears from the information obtained as a result
of such inquiry that the over pass design will effectively eliminate
the full time employment of 76 persons and the part time employment
of 39 other pex•sons in businesses adjacent to the area, and sub-
stantially reduce the value of existing improved properties in the
area; and it further appearing that said intersection of the two
highways has been relatively free from fatal accidents sand loss resulting
from propert~j dre.~a.ga and personal injury despite congested traffic
conditions at said intersection, and it further appearing that based
upon information presently known to the Council the proposed design of
the over pass at said intersection will not materially reduce the
hazards to life and property from those conditions as they now exist;
and
WH_~REAS, it appears to the Council that further investigation into
the feasibility of an alternate engineering design for handling traffic
at said intersection might eliminate the objectionable features herein
referred to and reduce construction costs by adoption of an alternate
construction design.
NO'vJ, T1-~LREFORE, in Special meeting of the City Council of the
City of Clermont, bake County, Florida, it is
RES._hti7ED, that the Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County,
Florida, request tre State Road Department of the State of Florida,
to make a further study of conditions at the intersection of TJ. S.
Highway ;~27 and State :Road i~50 in the City limits of Clermont, hake
County, Florida, with the purpose in mind of arriving at an engineering
design for the handling of traffic at said intersection which would
not incorporate the objectionable features believed by the Ci~y Council,
cn present information, to be incorporated in the existing, design
adopted by said State Road Department for t'~e over pass at that inter-
section.

B~; IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a delegation from the representatives
of the City Council and other interested persons appear at the e~~,rliest
possible meeting of the County Commission of Lake County, Florida,
and request their assistance in accomplishing this purpose.
