1413-fERTAS, bicycling plays an important role in the lives of millions of Floridians by
providing means to travel; and
`l13-{'RTAS, the City of Clermont and many local government agencies encourage
the use of bicycles as a mode of transportation on Florida's roadways and trails; and
V3-1-TREAS, roadway and trail safety is a top priority for the City of Clermont; and
'WHEREAS, the City of Clermont, has various programs focused on improving
safety, accessibility and mobility of Clermont residents and visitors; and
'WHEREAS, nearly 25 million residents and tourists participate in bicycling
annually, with more than 18.4 million bicyclists using paved trails and nearly 7 million
using unpaved trails; and
'WHEREAS, the City of Clermont is home to the oldest and largest multi-sport and
bicycling events with economic impacts totally over 60 million in the last two decades;
and
,NQ'W, THEREFORE, I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont, Lake County,
Florida, do hereby proclaim the month of March, 2019 as
FLORIDA BICYCLE MONTH
IN'WITNE'SS 'WHEREOJ: I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of
