RESOLUTIONS
N0. 354
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT
IMPROVEMENTS BE CONSTRUCTED ON STATE HIGHWAY 50
FROM TWELFTH STREET TO GROVELAND.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida
recognizes the urgent necessity of four laning state highway 50
from Twelfth Street in Clermont to the City of Groveland, Florida.
WHEREAS, this is a hazardous roadway in which over 196
accidents have occured since 1974,
WHEREAS, the Twelfth Street intersection on this highway must
be redesigned and include a traffic signal.
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved the City of Clermont urgently
requests that the State Department of Transportation rearrange its
construction priorities to install traffic signals on Twelfth Street
and four lane highway 50 from Twelfth Street to Groveland; and be
it further resolved that if these improvements cannot be immediately
commenced, the State Department of Transportation is requested to
immediately install traffic lights at the Twelfth Street intersection,
and complete the engineering plans and construction of this project
to the West end of the Clermont city limits.
