R-71-186• • RESOLUTIONS N °_ 2 71 RESOLUTION N0. 1$6 WHEREAS, it has been officially brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, that one PAUL WOLFS has applied to the Lake County Planning and Zoning Commission for a change of zoning of lands adjacent to the City of Clermont so as to allow the operation of a "sand mine", and WHEREAS, the proposed location of said "sand mine" is adjacent to the Palatlakaha River and is part of the "Clermont ~-1arsh", and WHEREAS, the City Council is concerned that the installation of such an operation may cause irreparable damage to the natural surface waters and/or subterranean waters of this area, and WfIEREAS, said installation avill undoubtedly create a nuisance and a public safety hazard as well as contribute to air and water pollution, and 'WHEREAS, such proposed action would in fact constitute spot zoning as there is not other industry in this area, THEREFORE, be i t resolved by the City Counci 1 of the City of Clermont, Florida, that this City go on record as opposing the installa- tion of said operation and furthermore, that should said operation be approved that it be so restricted and conditioned so as to guarantee ti~at there will be no influx of sand, silt, clay or other matter into the natural waterways , directly or i ndi rectly and further that the applicant be required to insure the operation of this proposed installation in a manner that will not constitute a traffic hazard or a pollution factor. AtVD BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the Lake County Planning and Zoning Bf~ard and the Lake County Pollution Control board.
