the City of Clermont has a rich history that includes its founding, in which
the city was designed to be a model town; and
'Whereas, the history of Clermont includes the achievements of men and women of
many races and ages, from the early Native American Timucua and Seminole tribes to the
present and;
'Whereas, a community is drawn closer together when it understands a shared history;
and
'Whereas, since 1998, communities around the world have embraced the idea of civic
unity through the reading of literature; and
'Whereas,Cooper Memorial Library will host a community read in January of the book,
"CLERMONT: From Gem of the Hills to Choice of Champions;"
NOW, Therefore, I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of
Florida, do hereby proclaim January, 2020, as
Clermont Reacts 3-listory .Month
In 'Witness 'Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of
the City of Clermont to be affixed this 14th day of January in the year two thousand
twenty.
