RESOLUTION N0. 190
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, has been
petitioned by the residents of Minnehaha Estates adjoining the City of Clermont,
Florida, and has also been petitioned by several property owners within the herein-
after described areas, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the hereinafter described
areas is contiguous to the existing City of Clermont, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the area hereinafter
described would be greantly benefited by the services which the City as a corporated
body offers to its residents, and
WHEREAS, it has been deemed in the best interest of the City of Clermont,
as well as the best interest of the citizens and property owners concerned with
the land hereinafter described that this land be annexed to and made a part of
the City of Clermont,
THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, resolves
that:
Under the provisions of Florida Statute Chapter 170 and the General and
Special Laws of the State of Florida; that the City of Clermont, Florida, does hereby
annex to and make part of its City area, the following described property contiguous
to the present City boundary, to-wit:
Commencing at a point at the intersection of the Northern right-of-way
line of Florida State Road No. 50 and the center line of Grand Highway
which forms the present Eastern boundary of the City of Clermont, run
East thence along the Northern right-of-way line of Highway 50 to a point
due North of the Northeast corner of Tract 24, Section 29, Township 22
South, Range 26 East, (according to the Plat of Lake Highlands) run
thence South and along the Eastern line of said Tract 24 and Tract
25, continue South to a point that intersects the Eastern right-of-way
line of U.S. Highway No. 27 (State Road No. 25), thence Southeasterly
along said Eastern right-of-way line to a point that intersects the
Southern line of Section 29, Township 22 South, Range 26 East; thence
West along the Southern line of said Section 29, Township 22 South,
Range 26 East, to the Southwest corner of said Section, thence continue
West along the Southern line of Section 30, Township 22 South, Range 26
East to the waters edge of Lake Minnehaha; thence run West 10 degrees
North across Lake Minnehaha to a point that is due South of the intersection
of the South right-of-way line of State Road No. 561 and the Western
boundary of the City of Clermont; thence run due North to the aforedescribed
point; thence run South and continue on the boundary of the City of
Clermont to a point that intersects the P.O.B. of this description.
ADOPTED at a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont,
Lake County, Florida, held on January 31, 1972.
