R-73-209• • RESOLUTIONS N ~ 3 0 4 RESOLUTION N0. 209 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, PETITIONING THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO DESIGNATE A SINGLE STATE AGENCY AS THE CENTRAL DEPOSITORY FOR MUNICIPAL FINANCIAL REPORTS AND URGING THE AGENCY SO DESIGNATED TO CONTACT THE U.S. BUREAU OF THE CENSUS IN ORDER TO COORDINATE REPORTING BY FLORIDA MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS. WHEREAS, the State Revenue Sharing Act of 1972, as well as other statutes require municipal financial reporting, and WHEREAS, the Federal Government and other governmental agencies require additional financial reports, and WHEREAS, such conflicting reporting requirements create an undue burden on the Finance Departments of the Cities of Florida, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Clermont that: THE CITY OF CLERMONT does petition the Florida Legislature to designate .a a single State Agency to which all cities would be required to report and that this agency be named as the central depository of Municipal Financial Reports. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State Agency so designated immediately contact the U.S. Bureau of Census in order to coordinate reporting by Florida Municipal Officials. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to the Governor, President of the Senate, Speaker of the House and the local legislative delegation.
