RESOLUTION N0. 211
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF CLERMONT
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE FLORIDA DEPART-
MENT OF TRANSPORATION ERECT SIGNS ON STATE ROAD #50 WITHIN
THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT REQUIRING THAT
TRUCKS OVER 3 TONS IN WEIGHT BE RESTRICTED TO THE USE OF
CURB LANES ONLY.
WHEREAS, State Road #50 is a designated State Highway that is routed
through the city of Clermont, Lake County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, traffic on State Road #50 is becomming more congested every
day; and
WHEREAS, increased mining and manufacturing enterprises in South
Lake County and i~n Central Florida have increased the use of State Road #50 by truck
transport traffic; and
WHEREAS, this increased truck and traffic congestion on State Road #50
has tremendously increased the possibility and probability of unnecessary loss of
human lives and property from vehicular accidents; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
The State of Florida, Department of Transportation, is hereby requested
to erect signs along State Road #50 within the City Limits of the City of Clermont, re-
quiring that all trucks over 3 tons in weight be restricted to the use of curb lanes
only.
PASSED AND RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, this the 8th day of May, A. D. 1973.
