Choice of Champions'
Whereas, African -American History is a vital part of America's History; and
Whereas, February has been designated as a month to recognize and celebrate
memorable events of African Americans;.and
Whereas, in 1926 Dr. Carter G. Woodson set aside a special time in February to
recognize the heritage and achievements of Black Americans; and
Whereas, African Americans have helped shape our country over the years in a
positive way through their extraordinary achievements, inventions, and memorable
events; and
Whereas, the City of Clermont will continue to work towards becoming an inclusive
community in which all citizens; past, present and future, are respected and recognized
for their contributions to our community, state, country, and the world;
NO'W, Therefore, I, Gail L. Ash, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of
Florida, do hereby proclaim the month of February, Two -thousand and Twenty as
Black 3fistory Nonth
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of
the City of Clermont to be affixed this 20' Day of February in the year Two Thousand
