RESOLUTION N0. 278
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY,
FLORIDA, ACCEPTING A SETTLEMENT OF
CLAIMS PROPOSAL FROM MICHAELS-
STIGGINS, INC., ENGINEERS AND ARCHI-
TECTS: AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A GENERAL RELEASE.
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont has made a claim for damages from Plichaels-
Stiggins, Inc., for negligence and breach of contract in connection with the
design of the effluent disposal facilities of the City of Clermont sewer
system, and
WHEREAS, Michaels-Stiggins, Inc., and its representative insurance
company, Continental Casualty Company, have proposed, and the City of Clermont
has accepted, a settlement of the claim in the total amount of $50,000.00,
payable to the City of Clermont as described in the General Release, a copy
being attached hereto.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Clermont does accept the
settlement of the claim described in the General Release attached hereto and
the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said General Release.
DONE AND RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County,
Florida, this 8th day of June, 1976.
