RESOLUTION N0. 294
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS OF LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO
ACCEPT A PORTION OF HOOK STREET IN CLERMONT,
FLORIDA, INTO THE COUNTY ROAD SYSTEM; RE-
QUESTING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
TO MAINTAIN SAID STREET.

WHEREAS, the following street is a duly dedicated City of Clermont street
according to the official map of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, recorded
in Plat Book 8, pages 17 to 23, inclusive, Public Records of Lake County, Florida;
that portion of Hook Street according to the Official Map of the City of Clermont
extending from the Northeasterly right-of-way line of Lake Shore Drive Easterly to
the West right-of-way line of Highway 27
WHEREAS, said street is the only access road in the Southern portion of the
City connecting Highway 27 to South Lake Shore Drive which extends South to State
Road 561; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners currently maintains South Lake
Shore Drive from Hook Street South to State Road 561; and
WHEREAS, the increased traffic including commercial trucking on Hook Street
as a result of its being the only access from Highway 27 to South Lake Shore Drive
requires considerable maintenance and repair creating an undue burden upon the
City of Clermont,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of Lake County,
Florida, be requested to assume control and maintenance of the above-described portion
of Hook Street and to include said street in the Lake County road system.
