RESOLUTION N0. 297
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA,
RESPONDING TO A REQUEST FROM THE CLERMONT
JUNIOR WOMEN'S CLUB FOR RECOGNITION OF A
MISS CLERMONT PAGEANT TO SELECT AN AM-
BASSADOR TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF CLERMONT
AND EXPRESSING DESIRE TO HOLD SAID PAGEANT
IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ANNUAL LABOR DAY
FESTIVITIES

WHEREAS, the Clermont Junior Women's Club is desirous of
selecting an ambassador to represent the community in various official
functions, and,
WHEREAS, the Clermont Junior Women's Club will actively sponsor
a pageant to select such a young lady, judging their poise, personality,
and interests, and,
WHEREAS, the Clermont Junior Women's Club is desirous of holding
said pageant in conjunction with the annual Labor Day festivities,
and,
WHEREAS, the Clermont Junior Women's Club is anxious for the
City to recognize said Miss Clermont as an official ambassador of the
City to represent the City at functions where the Mayor of Clermont is
also present, and,
WHEREAS, there shall be no financial support on the part of the
City in such pageant,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, THAT:
SECTION I. The City Council as the legislative body of the City
of Clermont recognizes a Miss Clermont Pageant to select an ambassador
for the City, said pageant to be held in conjunction with the Labor Day
activities.
SECTION II. The City Council recognizes Miss Clermont as an
official representative of the City to be present at such functions as
Labor Day, the Orange Blossom Breakfast, parades, building openings,
and whatever functions the Mayor of Clermont shall attend.
SECTION III.Miss Clermont shall be appointed to whatever wel-
coming body the City has or shall appoint to serve the City,and to devote
time and energy into being an ambassador of good will and citizenship.
DONE AND RESOLVED BY TiiE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, this 14th day of June, A.D. 1977.
