CITY OF CLERMONT
RESOLUTIONS
NO. 639
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, OPPOSING THE LOCATION OF A LANDFILL
SITE IN SOUTH LAKE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, properties in South Lake County are being considered as
solid waste disposal sites, and
WHEREAS, incinerated ash from the Lake County Waste to Energy
Facility, as well as other possible contaminants will be disposed
of at the chosen site, and
WHEREAS, the long range effects of such disposal on the environment
are uncertain, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Clermont are sensitive to possible
detriments to our environment, and
WHEREAS, the location of a solid waste disposal site would be a
detriment to the quality development now being attracted to South
Lake County, and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Clermont have expressed their concerns to
the City Council of the City of Clermont.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of
Clermont hereby states their opposition to the location of a solid
waste disposal site in South Lake County.
