RESOLUTIONS
No. 624
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, OPFüSING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A FEDERAL PRISON
IN SOUTH LAKE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont, Florida, a local government,
recognizes South Lake County's beautiful lakes and hills and semi-
rural family atmosphere, which makes the area a delightful place
to live: and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to maintain and promote this semi-
rural, residential lifestyle enj oyed by residents and visitors
alike: and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to oppose a Federal
Prison locating in South Lake County which would not be
complimentary to the existing way of life,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ci ty Council of the Ci ty
of Clermont, Florida, that the City expresses to the members of the
Lake County Board of Commissioners its desire that they oppose a
Federal Prison locating in South Lake County, and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
delivered to each member of the Board of Commissioners and to each
of South Lake County's municipal governments, with encouragement
to join in opposing the Federal Prison.
