RESOLUTIONS
NO. 594
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING AN
AD VALOREM MILLAGE RATE TO PARTIALLY FINANCE THE
GENERAL GOVERNMENT OPERATION OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, a portion of the revenue for the City's 1988-1989 Fiscal
Year Budget must be raised from the assessment and levy of an ad valorem
tax on each dollar of taxable property in the City of Clermont, Florida;
WHEREAS, it is hereby found and determined by the City Council of
the City of Clermont that the assessed gross taxable value for 1988
for the City of Clermont, as prepared by the Property Appraiser of the
County of Lake and received on July 1, 1988 is One Hundred Twenty-Three
Million, Three Hundred Ninety-Six Thousand, Five Hundred and Nineteen
Dollars [123,396,519] and that a tax rate of two point four two nine
[$2.429] per One Thousand Dollars [$1,000] valuation exceeds the "ROLLED
BACK" millage rate of the City by two point eight eight percent [2.88%].
WHEREAS, it is hereby found and determined by the City of Clermont,
that to raise the sum of Two Hundred Eighty Five Thousand Dollars
[$285,000] required from ad valorem taxes for the general government
operation of this City; an ad valorem taxation of all taxable property
of this City is required to be levied.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, there is hereby levied and shall be
collected on each dollar of taxable property in the City of Clermont,
Florida a tax levy of two point four two nine [2.429] mills, or an
adjusted millage rate that will raise an amount equal to Two Hundred
Eighty-Five Thousand Dollars [$285,000] for the general government
operation of said City.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Property Appraiser
of the County of Lake, is hereby directed to extend the Assessment Roll
of the City; heretofore equalized, confirmed and approved, and to deliver
same tax to the Tax Collector of the County of Lake, and the aforesaid
Tax Collector is hereby directed to collect said taxes at the time and
in the manner provided for by law.
