RESOLUTIONS
No. 551
A RESOLUTION OF CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
LAKE COUNTY FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING IMPOUNDMENT FEES FOR
ANIMAL CONTROL.
WHEREAS, Chapter Four of the Municipal Code of Ordinances
provides for the establishment of impoundment fees; and
WHEREAS, Florida State Law requires all animals impounded to
be vaccinated against rabies before they can be claimed;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, before an impounded animal may
be claimed, the owner shall pay to the City the following fees:
1. IMPOUNDMENT FEES:
A. FIRST IMPOUNDMENT: Five dollars ($5.00) for each
animal and the additional sum of one dollar ($1.00)
for each day the animal is detained.
B. SUBSEQUENT IMPOUNDMENTS: Upon subsequent impoundment
of the same animal, the owner may claim the animal
upon payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00)
for the first day, and one dollar ($1.00) for each
additional day.
2. ADDITIONAL FEES:
The following fees in addition to the impoundment
fees must be paid to the City if the animal does
not have a current City animal license and/or
current rabies vaccination:
A. LICENSE FEE: January 1 through January 31 $2.50
February 1 to December 31. $4.00
B. RABIES VACCINATION: A fee of eight dollars ($8.00)
must be paid to the City for a rabies vaccination.
A receipt will be given to the owner for the license and/or
vaccination fees. This will allow the owner to have the animal
vaccinated and to obtain a license with no additional charges.
The above fees shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
