R-87-548 CITY OF CLERMONT RESOLUTIONS N0. 548 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING THAT THE HEADWATERS OF THE PALATLAKAHA RIVER REMAIN UNDER THE DIRECT JURISDICTION OF THE ST. JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the headwaters of the Palatlakaha River flow directly to the Clermont Chain-of-Lakes and north to Lake Harris; and WHEREAS, the Clermont Chain-of-Lakes has been designated "Outstanding Florida Waters"; and WHEREAS, the protection of the headwaters is inclusive with the protection of the Clermont Chain-of-Lakes, which now are under the jurisdiction of the St. Johns River Water Management District; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, recommends that the headwaters of the Palatlakaha River remain under the direct jurisdiction of the St. Johns River Water Management District; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida, will pursue the necessary course of action to prevent any redistricting which would remove the headwaters of the Clermont Chain-of-Lakes from the jurisdiction of the St. Johns River Water Management District.
