WHEREAS, the Florida State Legislature has enacted certain laws
with respect to Continuity of State and Local Governments, namely: Chap-
ter 59-447 of the Florida Statutes, and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned Statutes provides for emergency
interim succession to executive offices of the State's political subdivisions;
and authorizes political subdivisions to enact resolutions and ordinances
relating to the subject,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following .line of emerg-
ency succession, in the event of a .local or national emergency, be estab-
lisped for the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida:
1. MAYOR -Vacancy to be filled by Chairman of Council
2. CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL -Vacancy to be filled by
Vice-Chairman
3. VICE-CHAIRMAN OF COUNCIL - To be selected
pro-tem by Council
4. CITY CLERK & CLERK OF MUNICIPAL COURT -
Vacancy to be filled by Deputy Clerk
5. CHIEF OF POLICE -Vacancy to be filled by the
Mayor
6. MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE -Vacancy to be filled
by the Council
7. ALL OTHER OFFICERS -Vacancies to be filled
by the Council
8. DIRECTOR OF CIVIL DEFENSE -Vacancy to be
filled by the Chief Deputy
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event a vacancy in any of
the above offices cannot for any valid reason be filled by the named suc-

c e s s o r then, and only in such event, the Council of said City may by
appointment fill said vacancy.
