ORDINANCE NO. 43-C
AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION #1 OF ORDINANCE #190 BY
DELETING THEREFROM THE PROVISION FOR 1% TAX AND SUBSTITUTING THEREFORE
A 2% TAX.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF CLERMONT HEREBY ORDAINS:
Section 1:
That Section #1 of Ordinance #190, of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Clermont wherein beginning at line #7 it reads
"which said tax shall be in the amount of (1%)"; said statement
is hereby deleted and the following statement is substituted therefor;
"which said tax shall be in the amount of (2%)". It being the
intent of this amendment to increase the excise tax on property
insurance from ~% to 2% on gross premiums.
Secti on 2:
The effective date of this Ordinance shall be July 1, 1969
and shall apply to all premiums accrued on or after that date.
Secti on 3:
If any article, section, clause or prov1s10n of this Ordinance
be deemed or held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction
for any reason or cause, the same shall not affect or invalidate
the whole of this Ordinance, nor any part thereof, other than that
particular provision deemed or held invalid.
Section 4:
All Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 5:
This Ordinance shall be posted by law and it shall become law
and shall take effect immediately upon its being posted as provided
by law.
