A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE
FREQUENCY OF SOLID WASTE PICKUP PURSUANT TO THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES CHAPTER 50 SECTION 34; PROVIDING FOR THE
ESTABLISHMENT OF BOUNDARIES FOR THE DOWNTOWN
DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR A RATE COLLECTION CHART BASED
ON PICKUP FREQUENCY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICT,
ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION OF SCRIVENERS ERROR, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont City Council pursuant to the City's Code of
Ordinances Chapter 50, Section 34 has provided authority to the Director of Public Services to
require more frequent collections of solid waste as deemed necessary subject to the approval of
the City Manager and City Council as stated in Chapter 50, Section 32; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont Public Services Director has deemed it necessary for
the health, safety, and welfare of the community that an increased frequency of collection is
necessary in the downtown business district described herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont,
Lake County, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1: RECITALS
The above recitals are true and correct, and are adopted and incorporated herein, and constitute the
legislative findings and legislative intent of the City Council of the City of Clermont.
SECTION 2: ESTABLISHING BOUNDARIES
Frequency of pickup may be increased for all owners and occupants of properties located within
the area bounded by the Clermont Downtown and Waterfront Redevelopment as set forth by the
City of Clermont City Resolution No. 950 and as shown in the map contained in Exhibit A.
SECTION 3: ESTABLISHING COLLECTION CHART
The established fee rates shall remain consistent with the published rates within the comprehensive
fee schedule as adopted by the City Council in Resolution 2017-60R. The charged collection rates
based on frequency of pickup shall be assessed based on the chart provided in Exhibit B.
SECTION 4: CONFLICT
Any resolution previously adopted by the City Council and in conflict herewith is hereby repealed
to the extent of the conflict.
SECTION 5: ADMINISTRATIVE CORRECTION OF SCRIVENERS ERROR
This Resolution may be re -numbered or re -lettered, and/or corrected for typographical and/or
scrivener's errors which do not affect the intent of said resolution, as authorized by the City
Manager or designee, without need of public hearing, by filing a corrected copy of same with the
City Clerk.
SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE
This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
