Proclamation #2021-024PPROCL.A- V VAIN
Whereas, longevity of life is a blessing for an individual and for a community that
benefits from the knowledge, creativity and experiences this individual
brings to all; and
Whereas, the City of Clermont recognizes with respect and admiration the
contribution of senior citizens to our community; and
Whereas, the United States has the greatest number of centenarians in the world; and
Whereas, Essie Helper Morgan, who is celebrating her 1031 birthday, was born on
October 16, 1918, and was raised in Mulberry, FL before moving to
Clermont, FL in October 2021; and
Whereas, Essie Helper Morgan was married for 18 years to her first husband, Isom
Helper, and remarried to her second husband, John Morgan, for 21 years.
She has five children, twenty grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, three
God children, and one adopted daughter; and
Whereas, Essie Helper Morgan has been described as very humble, easy going, and
incredibly grateful and who has lived her life by the Golden Rule which
entails "treating people right"; and
Whereas, Essie Helper Morgan enjoys a variety of activities such as quilting, gospel
music, dominos and checkers.
Now, Therefore, I, Tim Murry, Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida,
do hereby deem it an honor and pleasure to extend recognition on occasion of her 103'
birthday, with sincere congratulations and best wishes for many more happy, productive
years for the future, to:
