Resolution No. 2022-037RS= CLER%N-r CITY OF CLERMONT _ RESOLUTION NO.2022-037R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT CONFIRMING, ADOPTING AND EXTENDING THE DECLARATION OF EMERGENCY DECLARED BY RESOLUTION NO. 2022-034R RELATED TO HURRICANE IAN AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, Emergency Management provides for Local Emergencies; and WHEREAS, Governor Ron Desantis issued Executive Order 22-219 dated September 24, 2022, Declaring a State of Emergency for specified counties, including Lake County, related to the storm known as Ian; WHEREAS, Executive Order 22-219 remains in place and effective for a period of sixty days from September 24, 2022; WHEREAS, Mayor Tim Murry issued Resolution 2022-034R on September 25, 2022 declaring a Local State of Emergency for the City of Clermont related to Tropical Storm Ian; and WHEREAS, rainfall, flooding and the after-effects of the storm known as Ian may cause substantial damage to and loss of property including infrastructure, homes, businesses and other real and personal property and continue to have the potential to cause substantial harm or injury to the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida as follows: SECTION 1. Resolution 2022-034R Confirmed and Adopted. Resolution 2022-034R is hereby confirmed and adopted by the City Council and is given the full force and effect authorized by law. SECTION 2. Emergencv Declaration Extended The Local State of Emergency declared by Resolution 2022-034R is hereby declared and extended in its entirety for seven (7) days from the date hereof. The Local State of Emergency may be extended or terminated by action of the Mayor, or in his absence, the Vice Mayor. SECTION 3. Authority Granted to Mayor and/or Vice Mayor. Further, from the date hereof and until December 31, 2022, the Mayor, or in his absence, the Vice Mayor, is authorized to declare a future State of Emergency for the City of Clermont any time that the Governor and/or the Lake County Board of County Commissioners declares a State of Emergency. The Mayor, or in his absence, the Vice Mayor, may terminate any State of Emergency declared hereunder as may be required. CAE'M,CITY OF CLERMONT RESOLUTION NO.2022-037R SECTION 4.
