IN'£ERLOCAL AGREEMENT
FOR LICENSING VERIFICATION AND ENFORCEMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont hereinafter referred to as the
City, is desirous of providing for the consistency and the
enforcement of licensing requirements for building contractors, and
WHEREAS, Lake County, Florida, a political subdivision of the
state of Florida, hereinafter referred to as the County, has the
capability of providing for the enforcement of licensing
requirements for building contractors, and
WHEREAS, it will be beneficial to the health, safety, and
welfare of the citizens of the County and the City respectively to
provide for the enforcement of licensing requirements for building
contractors.
NOW, THEREFORE:
1. The City hereby grants authority to the County for the
enforcement of the licensing requirements for all building related
contractors operating within the corporate limits of the City.
2. The City hereby grants authority to the County to inspect
all construction sites within the corporate limits of the City to
verify that only licensed contractors are performing work requiring
licensing.
3. Contractors found not to possess the appropriate license
for work being performed will be brought before the Lake County
Code Enforcement Board.
4. The City will be sent a copy of any and all reports made
by the County pursuant to this Agreement within seven (7) days
within the making of such report.
5. The City requests the County Board of Building Examiners
to adjudicate disputes between licensed contractors and contractees
for work performed within the corporate limits of the City pursuant
to procedures stated in Chapter Six of the Lake County Code.
A.
The City will be a complaining party to all cases brought
under this section.
B.
Where the Lake County code and the Ci ty Code are in
conflict, the more stringent shall apply to all cases
brought under this section.
6. Either party to this Agreement
Agreement with thirty days written notice.
